At the start of Brotherhood, Ed, Al and Hohenheim get some serious character development. Hohenheim recalls the circumstances of his leaving his family. At Briggs, soldiers explore the underground tunnel Sloth had been digging and encounter a living shadow who kills them. As the camera flashed, tears of both gratitude and sadness streamed down Hohenheim's face. He resolved to find a way to end his immortality and grow old and die together with his beloved Trisha, but also feared failure and watching his family die. Of course, there are a few scenes you might feel has a little bit of mature content, but in general these are average for a 15 year old to watch. In fact all these anime are rated 13+. Fullmetal Alchemist: The Conqueror of Shamballa is set in 1923 and features Edward after he has spent two years searching for a way to return to Amestris. Disillusioned with the world around him, Edward feels that his alchemy has no purpose in this world. He encounters Alphonse Heiderich, who bears a passing resemblance to Alphonse Elric before losing his form. Convinced that the stranger is his younger brother returned to him, Ed does not learn otherwise until later when Alphonse reveals that he is an adaptation of the original Alphonse's soul into this reality.
