At the start of Brotherhood, Ed, Al and Hohenheim get some serious character development. Hohenheim recalls the circumstances of his leaving his family. Of course, there are a few scenes you might feel has a little bit of mature content, but in general these are average for a 15 year old to watch. In fact all these anime are rated 13+. However, they do not know what it can do or what it looks like, therefore they have to search military labs where experiments take place hoping to find one.
